Lithium Dosage
Hi - As I don't live in the US, it was an issue to order some Lithium orotate. But I found a way to get some pills (yeahh!). So I'm ready to start making IH's topical but I have 2 questions regarding proportions.
2 pills bring 3,9 mg of elementary lithium as the label indicates. How many pills should I mix into my shampoo?
If I use lithium orotate internally (for oily skin), how many pills should I use daily? Is 1 enough?
Thanks guys for your help!

Re: Lithium Dosage
Been using a tab of Lithium Orotate in the AM and Evening for months now, and I still have oily skin. That's with PM as well. I think something changed in my diet though that's causing it. Maybe it's the chocolate chip cookie hanging out of my mouth right now...

Re: Lithium Dosage
Hi Nid - Thanks for your feedback. I have noticed that my skin gets pretty oily whenever I eat potatoe chips, french fries... but I'm sure your diet is much healthier than mine. Have you tried to lower the dosage of fish oils or any omega 3 pills your're taking? You may also suspect PM... (super moisturizing effect?) I'm sure that Caustic will have some elements of answer...
I kind of control my oily skin with a great topical oil. It's called "Normalizing Day Oil" by Dr Hauschka. It is expensive but efficient after 1 or 2 weeks of daily use. My friends asked me what I did to my skin as it appears much younger. And by the way, I stopped taking Biotin a month ago. I don't know why but I have the feeling it was not doing any good to my hair and skin. I don't know if it's a coincidence but they seem better now.

Re: Lithium Dosage
Malik - Topical Lithium Orotate added to your shampoo works very fast. The amounts of Lithium you mentioned are correct. While it's a small amount of elemental Lithium, most of the content is Orotate. The Orotate helps the Lithium absorption--at least orally.
Biotin is essential for hair growth. It's an absolute necessity if you take Lipoic acid.
Diet can definitely play a large role. Potato chips and french fries are a good way to get oily skin. Avoid those if possible.
I would try taking one pill of Lithium, twice daily.
It may take about 2-weeks. If you use this topically the results will be almost immediate.

Re: Lithium Dosage
I honestly haven't been too great with the diet lately, been "cheating" quite a bit. Gotta revamp that, starting with my trip to the public market this saturday...been eating out a lot as well. However, I do try to eat as healthy as possible when I eat out--ie. - avoid grains.
That oil moisturizer sounds interesting! May have to look into it if I can't get this under control. The PM is actually supposed to reduce oily output.
I take 3-4 tabs of Biotin a day and have been doing so probably for 7+ months now and no adverse effects personally.

Re: Lithium Dosage
Yo Nid-- did I read you were taking Soy Lecithin in another thread? I had been on that a couple months and I realized it was causing my feet, hands and face to get oily/sweaty very early in the day. I'd take a shower in the morning and when I'd use my phone before noon I'd be surprised how oily it was.
Off of it for about 3 weeks now and I seem to be back in my "normal" range as far as oiliness goes.

Re: Lithium Dosage
You know what--that has to be it. I take 4 Soy Lecithins with every meal, and a tab of Neuro-PS at 200mg apiece 3x a day. That's a lot of phospholipids. I guess it's probably a healthy thing, as moist skin isn't skin that will dry and crack. I guess?

Re: Lithium Dosage
Hi IH - Many thanks for your post but you didn't answer my first question about the number of pills I should crush. It seems that my pills contain very little elementary lithium. You mention on your website that we need to put 1 & 1/2 teaspoons to 2 teaspoons of crushed Lithium pills (or powder) into the shampoo (along with DSMO of course). Do you think that 3 teaspoons are fine? - Thanks.

Re: Lithium Dosage
Malik - Yes that would work just fine. It doesn't have to be exact. I've used approximate amounts of 2 to 3 teaspoons worth.
Re: Lithium Dosage
All right IH - Thanks for reassuring me. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Lithium Dosage
Hi IH - One last question concerning your topical.
I like to wash my hair twice a day: morning and evening.
Can I use your rinse twice a day (any benefits?) or one is enough?
Thanks for your answer.
