CausticSymmetry re autitistic 7 yo kid

CausticSymmetry, how to treat/improve autism, there is this 7 yo boy autistic from birth, but has developed some highly analytical skills, he read all the harry potter books as 5 yo .. I adviced his parents to give him Cod liver oil and they were hesistant to begin with, but now he has responded very positively to this and has improved his social skills and also spoken language use .. so, what could be a next step to take to further improve this kid? He crave the Cod oil every evening and ask for it himself and takes a full table spoon full every night.

North-Europe - Definitely would give him extra vitamin D (yes on top of the cod liver oil). The amount of rentinol (vitamin A) can impede vitamin D, so extra is important. Would try to get is 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels to around 60 to 80 ng/mL which increases glutathione, a very crucial factor in autism.

Interestingly, my diet is very similiar to what helps autism. MSG/free glutamic acid, oxalates and gluten lower glutathione levels. Soy, casein possibly corn as well via free glutamic acid. Vaccines contain very high amounts of free glutamic acid.

Thanks for those suggestions. He is already very restrictive on what he wants to eat. I think that fat-soluble and detoxofying antioxidant is worth a try in addition to the CLO.

Hey JDP,

You said that gluten, MSG etc. lower glutathione levels. I know that lithium, taurine, B6, CoQ10 etc offer protection from MSG. Does it offer protection to just the brain cells or does it protect from glutathione reduction as well?
