Cytomegalovirus Infection Causes an Increase of Arterial Blood Pressure
http://www.plospathogens.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.ppat.1000427
This is a very interesting study, it was found that the reason ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) is elevated in hypertension (high blood pressure) despite normal kidney function is due to a cytomegalovirus infection present in the arteries.
This connection probably explains why certain anti-viral substances such as Vitamin D, Green Tea extract, Curcumin, Ecklonia Cava, Resveratrol and others help protect against it.
The connection between hair loss and hypertension is strong. The idea of viral infection has been brought up before on this forum, such as herpes simplex virus, which are inhibited by Lysine, BHT, Lithium, DIM, Iodine and others.
I wonder what effect MMS (Chlorine Dioxide) would have on these types of viruses.

I still want to try a high dose of that stuff as I hear it wipes out everything. However, I haven't had the cajones to try it. I remember reading on other sites that your body must reach a saturation point to get rid of difficult viruses or infections, like HPV or HSV.

Re: Cytomegalovirus Infection Causes an Increase of Arterial Blood Pressure
Good info! Thanks for posting. Here's an interesting quote
"MCMV infection and high cholesterol diet together induced atherosclerotic plaque formation in mouse aortas (Fig. 2A–D). Neither MCMV infection nor high cholesterol diet alone, however, caused atherosclerosis during the assay period"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's some info regarding a common bacteria in atherosclerosis.
"The Chlamydia pneumoniae (C. pneumoniae) organism, first described in 1988, is not the sexually-transmitted type. It is an airborne organism that you get from breathing after a person carrying the organism has coughed."
http://www.asthmastory.com/cp.asp
Intracellular Chlamydia bacteria have been implicated in atherosclerotic plaques as well as Alzheimer’s disease, asthma and respiratory tract infections. According to research by Dr. Elizabeth Stuart at the University of Massachusetts, tocotrienols inhibit Chlamydia. They do so by interfering with Chlamydia’s use of cell membrane cholesterol, so that it can’t infect cells as easily. Chlamydia may enter the cell through a “lipid raft”, taking cholesterol and using it to survive and replicate. Tocotrienols from annatto, which contain high amounts of delta and gamma, may help prevent this. In vitro, when cells were incubated with delta-tocotrienol before being infected with Chlamydia, their infection levels were 50% less than untreated cells. There were also changes in the Chlamydia bacteria that rendered it less infectious overall in delta-tocotrienol cells.

I was indeed referring to MMS in that post but that was 2 years ago. I have since changed my stance on MMS. The stuff is way to strong an oxidizer and think there are better/safer methods.
