Don't cook your food lol
A peer-reviewed study out of Stanford University claims that cooking meat at high temps damages the DNA of the animal which can be absorbed by our bodies and incorporated into our DNA. This heat-damaged DNA can lead to cancer in us they say. Well ain't that something! They've been warning us about bbq-ing (burning) meat for some time now. But now frying or roasting? Anything that involves high heat??? How else are we supposed to enjoy a nice hot meal? Pass the pickled asparagus.

Headlines like these are part of what's wrong with $cience - It isn't science, just $cience.
Heterocyclic amines which is what happens with meat is burned. However, is this really bad for us?
There is zero evidence beyond speculation based on very poor criteria that should have been thrown out into the garbage.
Unfortunately, most people buy into it, because--well, it sounds bad. Only that the evidence of harm doesn't exist.
However, the evidence of fried foods, at least in the context of seed oils being fried is bad..and will delete an average of 10 years off of someones lifespan.
Mixing carbohydrate with fat and then frying, then this is a different level of harm. That said, studies like these will instead rely on very broad measures and of course on animals....
Let's just take a look at the people of Sardinia, one of those "blue zone" areas. The Blue Zone book was criminally negligent on its meat details. Turns out, people of Sardinia eat a lot of meat---and yes they cook it. Living to 100 is not any 'big deal.'
