Carnitine helps to balance the thyroid, Ray Peat followers think it is thyroid suppressing which is not true. Carnitine only lowers thyroid hormones when you have hyperthyroidism.

Two points to consider
(1) It's about the dose (generally over 4,000 mg) then yes.
(2) If you use carnitine products without lipoic acid, it will cause excess oxidation. If you also use lipoic acid, then even
carnitine products in large doses are not a concern.
I believe as a whole, the body usually reaches homeostasis on its own.
