The thing is, was these mice genetically bald or just shaved? A lot of things "speed up" the growth of normal hair but how about dormant hair due to it's chemical environment such as damaged follicles due to dht?

There was another probiotic being studied for its ability to break down DHT or something. I'd be happy for something that just acts similarly to minox though.
There are pure L plantarum products sold for making sour beer. Maybe it could just be mixed fresh and applied to the scalp?
Too lazy to read the whole study to find out if they did anything special when applying the pure LP

Nice to see this kind of research.
One thread that was interesting, quite a long time ago here was the use of topical homemade kefir. The real stuff has nearly a trillion count bacteria, probably easier than buying a product that may have substantially less bacteria after being in shelf storage.

The japanese condiment wasabi (a type of horse radish) is supposed to help stimulate hair growth too according to a 2017 study. Just rub it on your head. It's so damn spicy that I wouldn't want it to get into my eyes though lol.

Decades ago, it was mentioned to rub crushed acidopholis down their to control sexual desire. The bad bacteria was said to be responsible for excessive sexual desire.
Point being, anywhere bad bacteria dominates, scalp or wherever, crushed acidopholis should help. Probably easier to live with than kefir.
