I am going in for an upper GI series tomorrow to diagnose a hiatal hernia. Is the type/quantity of iodine in Gastrografin going to have any adverse effects on my health? Are you aware of any toxic fillers in the solution that I should avoid? I am currently taking Thyroid Boost and would prefer not to undo all of the progress I have made. Thank you in advance.

Thyroid boost would protect.

Contrast media (or synthetic/radioactive types of iodine) is a form of poisoning, so taking real, organic types of iodine protect against this.

The type of iodine (Gastrografin) is a form that is toxic, however since you are loaded with a real form, it will be less likely to cause severe reactions.

Thanks.  I've rescheduled to give myself some time to evaluate my options.
