gel cap extraction

How do you get the oil out of a gel cap without wasting a lot still trapped inside? I've poked holes in them and cut off the ends and squeezed out the oil but it's so messy and there's still a lot still sticking to the sides of the gel cap. Can I dissolve the gelatin in something without contaminating the oil inside?
