Off topic, sorry: Best "natural" baby formula?
Sorry about the "off-topic" question, but my best friend as a newborn and not enough maternal milk...The baby is not gaining any weight, has even lost some. Do you advise any particular baby formula she could use?
Thank you in advance.

Makes me wonder what their diet is.
On the market there are some galactagogues (increase milk production). Not really sure how well they work.
The most popular response when asked about someone's diet? "I eat healthy" and 'healthy' is a matter of perspective.

CS their diet is mainly based on fruit, vegetables and fresh fish (they live near the coast).
Do you have any suggestions regarding the "best" baby formula? The baby is less than one month old...

Yes, so if they are not successful with boosting milk production, probably the best formula would be something like goats milk. I've seen it work well.

Hey Brooke.
My wife actually made her own to start supplementing breast milk with around 10 months.
She used Mt Capra and followed their recipe for making it (although we modified it slightly as she was older and was still breast feeding. Did olive oil in place of sunflower oil, reduced molasses pretty quickly, left out probiotics and multivitamin again bc she was breast feeding. Ultimately we just went to straight goat milk with some colostrum here and there.)

The goat milk formula at Whole Foods had some additives we weren’t too fond of. You can get all of these ingredients separately elsewhere too, which is what we did.
